At the heart of the Core Environment Program is building collaboration for achieving sustainable development in the Greater Mekong Subregion. Towards this, CEP-BCI actively works to strengthen cooperation between the six GMS countries and linking them with the expertise of non-government organizations, civil society, and other development institutions. Only with strong working relationships between all these stakeholders, and the local communities they support, can the vision of a poverty free and ecologically rich GMS be achieved. Wherever possible CEP-BCI engages national partners, only bringing in international expertise and experience where substantial value can be added.
