North-South Economic Corridor Strategic Environmental Assessment - Regional Impact Assessment Workshop

24-26 November 2008, Bangkok, Thailand

On 24^th November 2008, the Regional Impact Assessment Workshop on North-Sourth Economic Corridor (NSEC) Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) was held in Bangkok, Thailand. The participants included international consultants, representatives of regional government agencies, research institutions as well as donors. The workshop is one of the steps in the impact assessment phase for SEA of NSEC. The purpose of the workshop is to review the NSEC strategy and action plan (SAP), in particular the goal, objectives, strategic priorities and measures of SAP, to assess the potential impacts of SAP against SEA objectives, and to build the impact matrix for each country and for the NSEC area. The participants also shared the local experiences and gave recommendations to improve the SAP.
